Meaning:

Zenzile Miriam Makeba, also known as Mama Africa, was a South African singer, songwriter, actress and civil rights activist.

She was born on March 4, 1932 and died on November 9, 2008. Makeba was a prominent figure in the struggle against apartheid in South Africa and an important voice for social justice. Her music combined elements from various African styles and she coined the term "world music". Makeba left an impressive legacy that goes far beyond music.
